Getlink, formerly Groupe Eurotunnel, is a European public company based in Paris, that manages and operates the Channel Tunnel between England and France, including the Eurotunnel Shuttle vehicle services, and earns revenue on other trains through the tunnel (DB Schenker freight and Eurostar passenger).. It is listed on both the Euronext London and Euronext Paris markets and Headquarters: Paris, France.   The Channel Tunnel is a huge construction project, employing o people at peak, and costing over billion of private money. It has succeeded in spite of great financial, political and techncial difficulties, and a fundamentally flawed contract. This book tells the story of the project, based on the coverage in Construction News and with commentary .

Passengers intending to use cross-Channel services are advised to: Select the port on the interactive map for more information. Times listed are the minimum shortest crossing times. Not every ferry that departs from these ports completes its journey in that time. While there was one overall company looking after the creation of the Channel Tunnel, nnel, this was a joint owned French and British company.

Cross Channel ferries run to Le Havre on 11 weekly sailings, each with a 5 and a half hour journey. Le Havre is the second port of France after Marseille. It has a fast-growing tourist trade based on the yachting harbour and the adjacent resort of Sainte-Adresse, where Claude Monet once spent a summer painting 2 leisure scenes. Accordingly it was realized that the economic advantages -- or disadvantages -- of the tunnel should receive first consideration. In April Prime Minister Baldwin appointed a Committee "to examine and report on the economic aspects of proposals for the construction of a Channel tunnel or other new form of cross-Channel communication."Author: A.
